Arbutus House is a very comfortable, nicely furnished 3-bedroom home, nestled among magnificent trees in a sunny garden setting. This house is wonderful for families and/or for a group of friends. The beds in Arbutus House are especially comfy.

	Under a verdant canopy of Douglas fir, arbutus, and alder, on grounds brimming with ferns, mosses, vines and flowers, Arbutus House and Cottage are just a 10-minute stroll to Sandpiper Beach and a short bike ride to the Co-Op store.
Additional Comments
	Well-behaved dogs are allowed, but not encouraged. A $250 refundable damage/cleaning deposit is requested if you decide to bring yours along. A NOTE ABOUT WATER CONSERVATION As you may know, Hornby Island is a Water Conservation Zone. This means that all residents voluntarily do their utmost to conserve our precious and limited water resources. Hornby is quite arid in the summer, and water can be in very short supply. There was insufficient rain this last winter, which means we are in a drought condition. As with many homes on the island, the water for Arbutus House & Cottage comes from a well shared with a neighbor. In the summer months, the well can run dry if strict water conservation is not practiced. Please help out by limiting your water use. If you bring a large group – 7 or more people for the house, or 5 or more people for the cottage, we will ask you to pay a $50 surcharge per week for extra water (which we purchase from a local man whose well is quite abundant.) LINENS & TOWELS To conserve our water resources, we ask that you bring your own towels and linens, and wash them after you get home. If you forget to bring towels or linens, or don't have room to bring them, you may use ours. For the cottage, we charge $10 for linens and $10 for towels. For the house, $25 for linens and $15 for towels. (Please do not use our towels as beach towels. If you need beach towels, you can buy them at the Co-Op Store.) TELEPHONE Both the house and cottage have phones, but they are for local calls only. If you need to make long a distance call, you can go through the operator and use a calling card.
